Minnesota-based Outdoor Living Supply (OLS), a distribution platform focused on outdoor living and solutions, has expanded its footprint in the Southeast with the acquisition of Willow Creek Landscape Supply in Rome, Georgia.
Founded in 2005 by Russ & Shala Head, Willow Creek Landscape Supply offers hardscape and landscape supply products to customers in Rome, Atlanta, Lindale, Cedar Town and other surrounding communities.
“Russ and Shala have built an amazing team and a customercentric culture that aligns with OLS’ values and mission. Willow Creek’s location and nursery offering make it a great addition to our existing Georgia network.” – Brian Pace, OLS CEO
The Georgia acquisition comes on the heels of OLS’ Middle Tennessee expansion in February when the company acquired Nashville’s The Rock Place.
GreenPal Expanding Service Area To Florida Panhandle
This week GreenPal announced the company is expanding its Florida service area to include Panama City and surrounding areas in the Florida Panhandle.
Founded in 2012, GreenPal is an app that connects homeowners with pre-screened and community-rated lawn care professionals in their area.
Founder Gene Caballero says GreenPal views itself as the missing technology link tying to bring the lawn and landscaping industry to the 21st century:
“We saw we are the true operating system for the landscaping guy. Not only do we handle their demand creation, we also handle their payment processing, their scheduling and their route optimization.” – GreenPal’s Gene Caballero

2024 Lawn Care Survey Sheds Light On Homeowner Preferences
A new survey of hundreds of U.S. homeowners with yards sheds light on shifting consumer sentiment regarding sustainability, technology and willingness to spend more on lawn care and landscaping services in the coming year.
Results of the survey conducted by Gibbs & Soell (G&S) were released this week on the company’s website with the headline, “Consumers Report Narrow Understanding of Environmental Impact of Lawns.”
The survey found that the vast majority of respondents (72%) have little to no understanding of the overall impact their lawn and landscaping can have on the environment, according to the G&S press release.
This presents a clear opportunity for lawn care and landscape professionals to initiate that conversation with homeowners and position your business as an educator and trusted advisor.
Taking a proactive approach and engaging homeowners in your area with an education campaign regarding better lawns, landscaping and their impact on sustainability can set you apart from your competitors.
In addition to consumer thoughts on sustainability, the full report sheds light on homeowner thoughts on battery-powered equipment and their lawn and garden spending plans for the coming year. You can read the full report here.
