Flagler Technologies Acquires Allied Help Desk Services

This week Flagler Technologies, a South Florida-based provider of IT solutions across multiple verticals, announced the acquisition of Allied Help Desk Services, a Tennessee-based provider of top-tier support solutions to MSPs, IT Teams, Private Equity, Call Centers and ISPs.

AWS Plans To Invest $11 Billion In Georgia Infrastructure

This week Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Amazon subsidiary that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs on a metered, pay-as-you-go basis, has announced plans to invest an estimated $11 billion investment to expand its infrastructure in the State of Georgia.

According to the official press release, the new venture will be focused on supporting cloud computing and AI technologies which will help to  strengthen Georgia’s growing reputation as an innovation hub.

AWS’ VP of Economic Development Roger Wehner says Georgia officials have created an attractive business environment where companies like Amazon can make billion-dollar investments with confidence: 

“We are delighted to expand our infrastructure into Georgia with this planned multibillion-dollar investment, which we expect to create more than 550 well-paying jobs and drive significant economic growth for the state. State and local leaders have cultivated an environment that enables companies like AWS to make bold, forward-looking investments.” – Roger Wehner

Amazon has invested over $18 billion in Georgia since 2010 and contributed an estimated $20 billion to the state’s GDP, according to the announcement.

LineVision Deploying Advanced Grid Technology In Georgia

LineVision, the maker of patented non-contact sensors that unlock additional capacity on existing power lines, is partnering with Georgia Power to increase grid capacity, flexibility and reliability in the State of Georgia.

Texas-based Borusan Pipe US acquired the Berg Pipe facilities in Panama City and Mobile, Alabama in 2023. The Panama City facility was founded by Berg Pipe in 1979 and the Mobile plant commenced operations in 2008.

ReddWare And Zwipe Introduce Biometric Access Control Solutions

This week Florida-based ReddWare and Norway’s Zwipe announced a strategic partnership to develop advanced biometric access control solutions. The move comes as Zwipe is transitioning away from the payment card business and moving aggressively into access control solutions. 

According to the official press release, “ReddWare’s Enterprise Systems Integrators will receive access to both Zwipe’s biometric access cards and ReddWare’s deployment engineering services. The solution implements two-factor authentication through integrated biometrics, eliminating separate fingerprint reader requirements.” 

Zwipe President & CEO Robert Puskaric says the strategic partnership with Apopka-based Reddware will be a major step forward in “the deployment of Zwipe Access cards in the United States.”
