How To Grow Your Azaleas Just Like Augusta National
Of the list of disappointments at this year’s Masters, the performance of LIV golfers probably tops the list with the appearance of the beautiful azaleas at Augusta National this year ranking a close second.
The local ABC affiliate even went as far as to produce a segment titled, “Azaleas Don’t Have Their ‘A’ Game at the Masters.”
Senior Journalist George Eskola said the 1,600 azaleas lining the famous 13th hole (Azalea) and elsewhere on the legendary course bloomed earlier than normal this year proving that, as in golf and landscaping, timing is everything.
“But fear not,” writes award-winning landscaping consultant Ernie Reynolds in a special column titled “Mastering Azaleas” where he takes a deep dive into the rich history of azaleas and offers weekend warriors tips for planting, spacing and soil testing your own backyard azalea masterpiece.
