Guardian Glass & Privacy Glass Solutions Join Forces With Lyto
This week Guardian Glass and Privacy Glass Solutions announced the two companies have joined forces to commercialize the full-blackout, between-the-glass, automated micro-shade technology dubbed Lyto.
Guardian Glass, the original manufacturing partner of the Lyto product, has chosen South Florida-based Privacy Glass Solutions to produce and commercialize the innovative new product in the United States.
Lyto technology can provide complete blackout in just a few seconds for windows, doors, privacy glass in bedrooms and bathrooms, skylights and entry doors. As such, Lyto has tremendous potential in buildings where control of daylight and the comfort and privacy of occupants is particularly important, such as healthcare and educational facilities.
According to Guardian, the Lyto technology is unique because the shade is completely contained within a double or triple insulating glass unit. Lyto has no mechanical parts and is activated by passing a small current that creates an electrostatic attraction between the micro-shade and the glass surface.
