
RADO Mechanical Group Expands Operations To Alabama
This week Georgia’s RADO Mechanical Group, a leading electrical and mechanical contracting firm, announced the opening of a new facility in Alabama’s Bibb County Industrial Park conveniently located just southwest of Birmingham and adjacent to I-20.

According to the Bibb County Commission’s official press release, RADO’s new 20,000-square-foot facility on a 22-acre site will “serve as critical operations and service center for the company’s growing footprint.”
Veteran-owned and operated RADO was founded by Edward Spears and Jon Dale in 2004, and specializes in a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, structural, sheet metal, rigging, drafting, water jetting, plasma cutting, and field maintenance services.
By expanding operations to the 564-acre Scott G. Davis Industrial Park, Conyers-based RADO joins the likes of Mercedes Benz, MöllerTech and ThyssenKrupp that have all chosen to expand operations in Bibb County.

SECO Energy Selects DPR For Major Expansion Project
SECO Energy, the third-largest electric co-op in Florida serving over 500,000 customers across a seven-country region, has selected DPR Construction for a major expansion project spanning four of SECO’s service counties.

The expansion project will address the needs of SECO’s fast-growing service area which is adding 1,500 new members each month. The project will also replace some facilities that date back to the 1930s with modern, efficient structures to meet current and future operational needs.
After a competitive bidding process, SECO Energy selected Orlando-based DPR Construction, a general contractor and construction manager (CM) that specializes in technically complex and sustainable projects like the expansion and modernization of SECO’s facilities in Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties.
SECO Energy CEO Curtis Wynn explains why DPR was the right choice for this project that will break ground in 2026 and span five years:

Ti Cold Completes Banks Cold Storage Facility In Georgia
This month Banks Cold Storage, a full service, public refrigerated warehouse operation in Commerce, Georgia, announced the completion of its newest cutting-edge cold storage facility designed by Florida’s Ti Cold.
Ti Cold, an award-winning builder of industrial cold storage facilities, designed and built the new 210,000-square-foot facility which features a 65-foot-clear-height, 35 dock doors and 30,000 pallet positions.

For the new facility, Melbourne-based Ti Cold incorporated an eco-friendly refrigeration system, significantly reducing electricity consumption while maintaining precise temperature ranges from 40°F to -20°F. This system underscores Ti Cold’s dedication to both technological excellence and environmental responsibility.

JCCG Announces New BTR Near Auburn University
Following the successful rollout of Build-to-Rent (BTR) developments in two of the largest college towns in Florida and Georgia, Jim Chapman Construction Group (JCCG) is ready to expand the winning formula to neighboring Alabama.

Atlanta-based JCCG has announced the land development phase of their next RanchCottagesForRent project at Creekside Cottages in Opelika, Alabama about fifteen minutes northeast of Auburn and Auburn University.

Taylor Morrison Breaks Ground On New Georgia Resort Community
Taylor Morrison’s Jacksonville Division has announced groundbreaking for The Esplanade at St. Mary’s, a new resort lifestyle community in St. Mary’s, Georgia just north of Jacksonville.
The 1,250-acre development will feature more than 1,300 single-family homes plus a wide variety of resort-style amenities and wellness programs associated with the company’s Esplanade branded communities nationwide.
In February, Chris Wilczynski, ASGCA of C.W. Golf Architecture was appointed by Taylor Morrison to develop the master plan for the 18-hole championship golf course and practice facilities, according to Golf Course Industry.

JFB Construction Announces Largest Contract In Company History
This month Florida-based JFB Construction Holdings announced the commencement of the largest single multi-family development construction contract in company history valued at $21 million.
According to the announcement, JFB will act as the General Contractor for The Preserve at Port Salerno, a 79-unit townhome development with clubhouse, pool and other amenities in Martin County just south of Stuart.

In reflecting on the significance of the new contract, JFB Construction CEO Joseph F. Basile, III expressed his belief that larger multi-family developments like The Preserve “will be the key to our future success.”
