LandSouth Breaks Ground On Livano Charlotte Harbor
LandSouth Construction announced that the company has broken ground on an upscale, multifamily development in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Livano Charlotte Harbor is being developed by Alabama’s LIV Development Group, and it marks another collaboration between the Birmingham developer and Jacksonville’s LandSouth.
The 333-unit Livano Charlotte Harbor project is being built on a 22-acre parcel approximately 45 minutes south of Sarasota. LIV’s MD for Development explained the significance of the new project:
“Livano Charlotte Harbor is an exciting addition to our Florida portfolio. Port Charlotte’s incredible growth will make it a highly sought-after community for residents looking for luxury living near limitless outdoor activities.” – LIV’s Andrew Murray
According to LandSouth, the project will be a 7-building, 4-story development with floor plans ranging from 800 to 1,500 square feet. Livano Charlotte Harbor is expected to be completed in early 2026, according to LandSouth.
CIDAN To Host Machinery Metal Expo In Atlanta

KANECO Construction Building New Zaxby's Location in St. Johns
This week Zaxby’s announed that the company is building a new location just south of Jacksonville at The Fountains of St. Johns.
The new location will be owned and operated by Contentment Fountains (CF). CF owner David Matthew Strickland emphasized the company’s roots in St. Johns:
“As residents of St. Johns County, we are excited to open this new restaurant. We aim to contribute to this great community by bringing new employment opportunities and hope to partner with schools in the area for weekly spirit nights.”
The contractor for the new Zaxby’s location is Atlantic Beach-based KANECO Construction, a non-traditional, service driven commercial contractor that specializes in low rise shell & core construction, retail and restaurants.
With the new St. John’s location, Atlanta-based Zaxby’s will add to the 7 existing locations in Northeast Florida and 114 locations in the Sunshine State. The company is rapidly approaching 1,000 Zaxby’s locations in 17 states nationwide.
Johnson-Lancaster Expands West Coast Footprint With Acquisition
Clearwater-based Johnson-Lancaster & Associates (JL&A), one of the nation’s leading food service equipment contractors, announced the acquisition of California-based IFE/SCRDG, a leading food service equipment dealer that focuses on chain restaurants, independent restaurants and government entities.
According to the official press release, the combined entity will be the 7th largest food service equipment dealer in the country. Furthermore, the acquisition will make the combined company stronger by enlarging JL&A’s West Coast footprint while also strengthening IFE/SCRDG’s ability to provide expanded services to their customers as well as nationwide distribution.
