El Car Wash Announces New Florida Acquisitions
The battle for dominance in the premium car wash arena just got a little hotter this month with more high profile car wash M&A activity.
Miami-based El Car Wash just announced two new car wash acquisitions that will expand the company’s shiny Graphene X + Ceramic coated footprint to Central and Southwest Florida.
El Car Wash, the official car wash of the Miami HEAT and Florida Panthers, announced two acquisitions last week: Sweetwater Car Wash in the Doctor Philips neighborhood of Orlando and Suncoast Express Car Wash in Ft. Myers.
El Car Wash Eyes Central Florida Expansion
The Sweetwater Car Wash acquisition in Doctor Phillips became official on February 21st when El Car Wash assumed ownership of the 16-year old Sweetwater facility which was founded in 2008 by entrepreneurs Alan Schneider and Eddie Moy.
Sweetwater continues to operate its other 4 Central Florida locations in Apopka, Millenia, The Villages and Windermere. Meanwhile, El Car Wash has its sights firmly set on more Central Florida car wash M&A activity.

“This strategic expansion signifies El Car Wash’s growing presence in Central Florida with the Sweetwater Dr. Phillips acquisition paving the way for additional sites in 2024, including Altamonte Springs, Boggy Creek, Davenport, Lake Nona, Merritt Island, and Rockledge,” according to the recent press release.
El Car Wash Expands Southwest Florida Portfolio
El Car Wash’s acquisition of Suncoast Express Car Wash in Fort Myers marks the company’s third location in Southwest Florida following previous openings on Immokalee Road in Naples and Ben Hill Griffin Parkway in Fort Myers.
Earlier this year, El Car Wash opened the largest car wash in South Florida: a 7,000-square-foot facility in Doral which also serves as the company’s corporate headquarters. El Car Wash is approaching 80 locations that are either active or under development.
Caliber Car Wash Expands To Over 50 Locations
Atlanta-based Caliber Car Wash is also expanding rapidly in 2024 with over 50 active locations and over 100 announced locations.
Privately-owned Caliber is close to cracking the ranking of the Top 20 Largest Conveyorized Car Washes in the United States. Currently at #22, according to DRB, another 100 locations would put Caliber in the Top 10 nationwide.

Caliber recently opened its newest Florida location on US1 in Vero Beach, and the company will be opening new car washes in Daytona Beach, Hobe Sound, Palm Bay and two additional locations in Orlando on Narcoossee Road and Goldenrod Road.
Caliber Car Wash opened its first car wash in Ocala, Florida, and has since expanded throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, and Texas.
Summit Wash Holdings Doubles Location Count
Another Florida conveyorized wash player, Palm Beach Gardens-based Summit Wash Holdings, recently announced that the company almost doubled its number of car washes last year.

In 2023, Summit opened a total of 24 locations: 4 in Nebraska, 13 in Florida, and 7 in Connecticut. This wave of openings almost doubled Summit’s number of active care wash locations to 52.
