Business Facilities Article Shines Spotlight on Florida's Economy

An article in the new issue of Business Facilities magazine starts by looking at Florida’s economic performance on the state level and drills down into a lesser known coastal region that is gaining popularity with U.S. manufacturing firms looking at relocation options in the Southeast.

Florida Continues to Outpace National Economic Trends is the headline of Kari Williams’ analysis in the new issue of Business Facilities magazine. This month’s issue is the Annual Awards issue and, not surprisingly, several Southeastern states received plenty of attention.

3 Million New Businesses Since 2019

In the Florida article, Williams notes a pro-business climate and mindset have helped Florida maintain an unemployment rate below the national average every month for three straight years.

She also interviews Florida Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly who points to proactive policies at the state level which have encouraged business owners to launch 3 million new businesses in Florida sine 2019.

The governor’s approach is a constant focus on the key drivers of long-term workforce and economic readiness, a blueprint based on owning the results and being able to hedge against national trends, rather than waiting for empty promises from federal bureaucrats

Florida's Treasure Coast Luring More Manufacturing Businesses

The second half of the Business Facilities article drills deeper into a lesser know coastal region of Florida that is gaining the attention of more U.S. manufacturing firms given its high quality of life index and abundance of undeveloped land.

The Treasure Coast is a three county region conveniently located halfway between Orlando and Miami with Interstate 95, Florida’s Turnpike and the Florida East Coast rail line passing through all three counties.

Thousands of acres of former citrus groves await manufacturing firms looking to build a new facility in the three Treasure Coast counties: Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin.

Conclusion

Long considered a quiet, undeveloped corner of the Sunshine State, the Treasure Coast’s high quality of life, immediate access to key highway and rail infrastructure, and wide availability of industrial land are a great combination for U.S. and foreign manufacturing firms looking at regions for expansion or relocation.
