FIME 2024 To Showcase America's Medtech Excellence

The three-day event which opens this morning will showcase U.S. research and breakthroughs in medtech for a global audience, while also giving foreign visitors a chance to showcase their products for international buyers.

Some of the medtech categories on display will include orthopedic devices, laboratory, pharma and nutrition, physiotherapy and rehabilitation devices, imaging, healthcare and general services, medical equipment, infrastructure, as well as IT systems, solutions and digital health.
UK Medtech Companies Making First Ever FIME Appearance
The United Kingdom is just one of the countries that made a special announcement prior to this week’s show touting their participation in FIME 2024. This will be the first year that a delegation from the UK has exhibited at FIME.

According to Med-Tech News, a select group of British medtech companies will be showcasing next-generation imaging solutions, cardiovascular surgical instruments, patient handling products, and waste disposal solutions.
Chile Promotes Medtech Devices At FIME 2024
As the largest medtech expo in the Americas, FIME is attended by delegations from many countries in Latin America.
One of the largest delegations at FIME 2024 is from Chile, a country that registered $2 billion in service exports last year, a 55% increase over the previous year. In the medical device category, Chile exports $250 million globally each year.

According to event organizer Informa Markets, some of the innovative Chilean companies attending FIME 2024 include:
- Plan 3D: Maker of commercially validated clinical simulators
- Candel Medical Company: Maker of home neuro-rehabiliation devices
- MedETechni: Maker of innovative wound care devices
- Pegasi de Chile: Solutions for diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients

Tapping South America's Largest Medical Device Market: Brazil
FIME 2024 also presents a golden opportunity for representatives of leading U.S. medtech companies looking to network and close potential deals that will launch their products in Brazil, the largest medical device market in South America.

The United States was the number one exporter of medical devices to Brazil last year accounting for $879 million (17%) of Brazil’s total $5.1 billion in medical device imports in 2023. Trailing the U.S. in the Brazilian medical device arena were Germany (15%) and China (11%).
This week Informa Markets published an in-depth article from Laura Baroni addressing the many regulatory hurdles that companies must clear in order to gain access to the lucrative Brazilian market.
Ms. Baroni will be speaking on the third and final day of FIME 2024 in what is expected to be a very informative session: “How To Surf LATAM’s Regulatory Issues.”
